My Kitchen Refresh Plans
This season, I decided it was time to show my kitchen a little love. And baby, she will be glowing all the way up! Well, when she’s done. LOL!
I’ve been craving a space that feels more stylish, functional, and with just the right amount of boldness. So, I rolled up my sleeves (and pulled out the mood boards) to bring a fresh new vibe to the heart of my home.
Here’s what’s in store for my kitchen:
A Fresh Coat of Paint
First things first, the kitchen needed a clean slate. I chose Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa, a soft, creamy white that will instantly brighten the space and make everything feel crisp and inviting. It’s the perfect neutral backdrop for what will come next.
Bold Wallpaper Moment
I know what you're thinking, wallpaper?! But hear me out. I fell in love with this black and white abstract print, when I saw it in Carmeon Hamilton’s dining room. I found out she turned it into a wallpaper and I had to have it. I found it on Spoonflower last year, but I’m not sure if it’s still available. This wallpaper adds just the right amount of drama without overwhelming the space. I plan to apply it to the wall with the TV, and it will surely be the star of the room.
New Lighting, New Energy
Lighting can completely transform a room, and these bronze geometric light fixtures will give the space a modern edge while still feeling warm and welcoming. I plan to install a pendant-style chandelier over the dining table and a matching flush-mount fixture over the main kitchen area. Major glow-up vibes!
Sleek Sink & Faucet Upgrade
The old sink and faucet? Has to go! I plan to replace it with a matte black double-basin sink and a pull-down industrial-style faucet. It’s giving chef’s kitchen energy and I’m not mad about it. Clean lines, with a luxe finish.
Details That Matter: Matte Black Hardware
Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest impact. Swapping out the old cabinet knobs for matte black hardware will instantly give the cabinets a fresh look without replacing them entirely. It’s such a simple upgrade, but it will tie everything together beautifully.
